Employee Assistance Fund

In 2014, a group of Carmel members banded together to find a way to give back to the Carmel team members who make the Club a wonderful place to be. While front-facing team members were able to create relationships with members, those who worked behind the scenes often were left out of the fold.

Avenues of Giving

Following Hurricane Florence in 2018, the EAF Board moved to expand the assistance beyond scholarships to include emergency relief for those who experienced a catastrophic life event that hindered their ability to meet everyday expenses. In 2019, the program was expanded again to include student loan repayments.

A board of trustees and a scholarship selection committee oversee fundraising, maintain records, conduct interviews and award funds. The EAF is an established 501(c)(3) not for profit entity which ensures that all donations are tax deductible and used as intended.

The EAF Board has worked closely with the Club to ensure sustainable and ongoing funding for the team members who call Carmel home. Since 2014, nearly $300,000 in scholarships, $66,000 in student loan payments, and $80,000 in emergency relief have been awarded.
